Lynne Lewandowski,
Memling
SOLD

 Serial #N/A
Pre-owned custom 31-string, Gothic harp
Built in 2001.

This rare harp was custom built for and lovingly cared for by one owner with 31 strings. The harp is in pristine condition, with no scratches or knicks. The harp body and soundboard are made of cherry wood, and the harp is fully equipped with brays. Comes with padded carrying case and tuning key. The harp is currently missing many strings. Due to different tastes in strings brands and materials for historical harps, the buyer may choose to restring the harp themselves, or may choose to have Hillnote restring the harp for them for an additional cost. A limited amount of extra strings are available should the buyer choose to use them.

This harp was custom built by Lynne Lewandowski in 2001 in Vermont.
"Flemish, 15th century. The Memling harp has become a trademark of the Lewandowski Workshop. Inspired by the tall and slender harps painted by Hans Memling, this design is most expressive of the Gothic style, with height, tracery and upward movement. The clarity and articulation of each string make the harp the perfect voice for the polyphonic music of the Renaissance."

Bray Pins -
Bray pins can be set in a variety of ways to produce different timbres, ranging from a normal sustained sound, a sustained bray sound, to a softer, purring bray sound. Brays may also be set to produce semi-tones similar to sharping levers.
